
New Students
Your First Class
We know walking into a new studio can feel a little daunting, but don’t worry, we’ve all been there! At Yippie Yopi, we’re here to make your first visit easy, enjoyable, and welcoming. All you need to do is arrive with an open mind and a smile, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Arrival Time
The studio opens 20 minutes before each scheduled class. If there is already a class running, doors will open 15 minutes before the next one. Please arrive at least 15–20 minutes early so your teacher can welcome you and show you around. Classes always start and finish on time.
Never Done Yoga Before?
All our classes are beginner friendly. In 26&2, everyone does the same sequence, but at your own pace and range. You’re welcome in any class, whether it's your first time or your 100th.
Booking or Walk In?
Prefer booking? Use the Mindbody app to reserve your spot. Short on time? Just walk in, we usually have space.
What to Wear
Light, non restrictive workout clothes work best, think shorts, sports bras, singlets. Avoid heavy t shirts or long pants. For Yin Yoga, bring socks or a lightweight layer for savasana as the room may feel cool.
What to Bring
- • A yoga mat (rent for $2)
- • A towel for your mat (rent for $2 or buy for $40)
- • A water bottle (filtered water is available)
- • An extra towel if you plan to shower afterward
Not Flexible?
No worries! Many students start here. Yoga builds strength and mobility over time, you come as you are, and grow from there.
Before Class
Avoid eating within 2 hours of class and drink water beforehand, hydration makes a big difference.
Class Length & Frequency
Choose from 45, 60, or 90 minute sessions. We recommend practicing at least three times a week to feel the full benefits.
Weight Loss?
Yes, yoga can help, especially when paired with a healthy lifestyle. It builds muscle tone, aids metabolism, and supports mindfulness around habits.
Remember: the hardest part is showing up, once you’re here, you’ve already won!
